BACKGROUND

Introduction

At MOOD, we aim to deliver customer experiences through tailored digital solutions. The Virgin Bay Mortgage website development exemplifies our approach to modern, composable architecture for financial services in the US Virgin Islands.

This project was designed to provide a personalized, omnichannel experience to customers through a headless CMS architecture, helping them navigate the complexities of mortgage processes with ease while enabling content teams to work independently.

CHALLENGE

The Challenge

The market conditions created unique requirements for an engaging and informative platform that catered to a specific local market—the US Virgin Islands. This presented us with unique regulatory, cultural, economic, and technological considerations which differed from the more complex mortgage related services seen mainly.

The client needed a modern content management approach that would allow non-technical teams to update mortgage rates, educational content, and regulatory information without developer intervention.

Traditional monolithic CMS solutions would have limited their ability to deliver personalized content across multiple channels and integrate with third-party mortgage calculation services.

SOLUTION

How We Did It

Our design team used Figma to establish a visual identity that reflects the professionalism and local expertise of Virgin Bay Mortgage. We implemented a modern headless architecture using Contentful as the content management system, enabling a composable content strategy.

Section content

Design & Headless Architecture

The website was developed using Next.js and React, taking advantage of server-side rendering for better performance and SEO. We implemented Contentful as the headless CMS, creating structured content models for mortgage products, rates, and educational resources.

Development & Integration

TypeScript was employed to ensure code reliability and maintainability. We utilized Contentful's REST API for content delivery, enabling efficient content fetching and dynamic updates. The site was deployed on Azure Static Web Apps for hosting, providing a scalable and secure environment.

Additional Features

JavaScript was integrated for dynamic content and enhanced user interaction. We created custom API endpoints to handle mortgage calculations and customer inquiries, while Contentful managed all content-related aspects through its composable architecture.

Content Strategy

Designed flexible content models in Contentful that support multi-language content, A/B testing, and personalization rules based on user location and mortgage preferences.

RESULTS

Outcome and Results

Since the launch, Virgin Bay Mortgage has reported increased engagement and higher customer satisfaction. The website's personalized service features and easy navigation have been particularly praised.
